Mind numbing lustiness..
I remain unmarried and that is making me overtly exposed to all the perverts of this otherwise fabulous country. From random househelps to drivers, from so many uncles in ‘lungis’ to our mentors and teachers spitting out numbers and lustiness ever so absentmindedly.
Sir Winston Churchill had remarked that the Indic species is really very lusty but so is his own Western society and its civilizational history. So, what is an unmarried lady supposed to do when so many suitable and not so suitable men keep staring- either you join in the game or you move out peacefully. But what if you can’t move out due to your responsibility of your parents?
I really do not have any answers to all these questions sadly. Should you give in to your own desires or should you abstain permanently? Abstinence feels great at most times, but when there is any lonely encounter with anybody of the opposite gender, you begin to start shrinking away in total denial and disgust ever so deeply.
The best way out is prayer, but that requires your own entire 100%- at most times leaving you out of the comforts of your home and city.
The Geeta preaches to do karma to override desire- that means that aside from praying, eating and sleeping one should just keep working incessantly, which we do anyways, but now, after 50, it means to work even more hard and without any pauses or breaks in order to shield ourselves from the arrows of Cupid that everyone keeps on darting at us ever so mistakenly. Being stared at wilfully?- go run away and start making ‘puris’, dusting your wardrobe, or restacking your old bookshelf- anything that keeps you out of danger, reducing your panic attacks and also your own burdensome anxiety.
