My favorite vacation destination is a place that most people would classify as sacred, and I am really into traveling to Ashrams and temples all over the country. And that too solo and otherworldly.
The best temples are the ones that are maintained by Chinmaya Mission and their religious trusts like the Adi Sankara Nilayam, the birthplace of Adi Sankaracharya- a place that is blissfully religious and soaked in the greatest sensory piety.
The latest destination, at Uttar Kashi, was full of the best days for any spiritual study and contemplation.
Swami Devatmanandji, the Swami in charge, is a living spiritual giant and he has sustained his Uttar Kashi Ashram very efficiently.
Uttar Kashi is a special place for all Hindu devotees- sitting along the banks of the Ganga, the heavenly place is the best place to meditate and pursue any personal religious practices or sadhnas via the path of knowledge primarily.
The most popular color is saffron in the region- the Kashivishwanath Temple is ancient and very potent and pulsating with resounding divinity. There is a thriving market right in the middle of which lies the Uttar Kashi Temple dedicated to Shivji. The divine place is choc-a-bloc with Sanyasis. Many Ashrams in Uttar Kashi have to allow any Swami that wants to live there to be with them, provide for them and also organize their spiritual talks and meditation sessions.
There are so many temples to visit, so many travel destinations- you just can’t get enough of the holy vibes of the place.
The food at the Ashram is mostly vegetarian and really extremely delicious and healthy.
It is quite a sign of devotedness that many young renunciates and seers and sages throng the place with utmost devotion and love for Shivji who loves them all back extremely justly.
