Not all of us are Herculeses- we have our limitations and do not want to play the roles of Goddesses, thank you please. Apart from that, we also don’t need to feel that overworked or over extended, not all of us come from middle class or lower middle class families. Some of us work smart, not hard and we excel in doing that naturally. A 4 hour workday is not even a luxury any longer, it is a grossly neglected necessity. It is even a well known fact that the more studied you are, the lesser should be your work responsibilities. But the Indian corporate workplace refuses to realise this- many human resources are exploited till their assets and they themselves are all set to bleed. By the time an Indian employee retires, he is already a senior citizen mentally. When will the feeling of poverty ever leave an Indian native one should question pointedly. Just because the Mughals and the British overruled us, poverty has now become a second nature to all of us intrinsically.
The Western world and the 5Is especially know this trait of ours and exploit it fully wholeheartedly. They employ us abroad and pay all their White employees a lot more sadly. An average Indian does double the work of his white counterpart globally. Why do we Indians lack our self esteem so rabidly? Why can’t we deny our own exploitation and abuse vociferously? Most of us don’t even acknowledge or recognise the clever and cunning natures of our international employers and bosses- we just assume that they are good natured and civil absurdly. The truth is that our employers know that they are evil and bad natured, and they don’t even try to conceal it unfortunately. The abuse is visible, the punishment not most woefully.
By the time our employees become self sufficient, they just become carbon copies of their terrible employers and bosses. Any educated person should weed such toxic work ethics out from his workplace, but many of us just make peace with it and we keep complying one-sidedly and idiotically.
Our most prized possession, our EAM S Jaishankar, has worked out of this trap fortunately. He is making the West feel like how we used to feel since the country got partitioned by our colonizers and exploiters most abusively. We must thank him repeatedly wholeheartedly. We must credit Ajit Doval for all his national level politics and for how he managed to tame the wild boar that Pakistan has turned out to be. Most of us Indians are very gifted but the world has been very jealous and unkind towards us collectively. Ever since the times of the Guptas and the Chowhans, we have always been terrifically gifted and multifaceted naturally. It is because of this trait that most global leaders and employers from abroad love to hurt us and injure our collective personalities. It is their sheer sadism and schadenfreude that they display most gleefully. It is best to work smart and remain united instead of allowing our colonizers to divide and rule over us most shrewdly.
United we stand, divided we fall- something that we all should know only too well, thankfully. Let us not allow our enemies to break our backs any longer with over work and over earnestness regretfully. Work smart, not hard should be our collective motto henceforth liberally.
