Our Indian culture is replete with examples of women who stood out and also stood up for their belief systems, customs and even religions- consider the examples of Sita, Radha, Ahilya who stood the tests of time and are still remembered and revered to this day for their unique and special contributions to our society.
As for the women of today, especially the Bollywood and Hollywood ones, they are only concerned with accruing money and relationships- with the latter being too personal and intimate. The exploitation of women is so rampant, that those women who don’t participate and stick to virtue are cast aside and rendered hopeless.
We can see that most highly educated women refuse to fall for such traps in relationships even if it means for them to land up all alone. It is disgusting to view all the repulsive page 3 artistes day in and day out frequently. Most of them appear to be confused- they don’t know whether to follow the American dream or be more patriotic. They don’t know whether to stick to tradition or to embrace modernity. They don’t know whether to maintain their chastity or to flaunt their left liberal modernity.
Feminism is the call of the hour- it is the only way by which we can reduce the rampant misogyny.
We don’t know whether to be happy with the prevalent attempts at becoming more evolved socio economically or to be satisfied with our middle-class mindsets and mentalities.
We UP-women and people should learn a thing or two from our female counterparts in Kerala- every woman in Kerala is nearly independent financially. Their households are maternal in nature and they do not believe in patriarchy. If the women from Kerala can do it, why can’t we?

The web channel Youtube is full of innumerable murder mysteries involving women and most of them revolve around the concept of love jihad politically. Women are commodified incessantly- they are raped, murdered and killed savagely.
A woman can’t even feel safe at her maternal home and not only that, she is always despised and resented at her husband’s home even when she is supposed to lead the household like a domestic housewife and also deliver like a working woman indefinitely.
The problem with family is that once a woman becomes financially independent, she is left to her own resources. This very often translates into loneliness, self-harm and self-denial ever so massively. Most females have to fend for themselves once they are too old to marry or if they have been too busy professionally.
What we need from our men is to reduce the politics that they subject their partners to, not only at home but also at their respective workplaces. Why should the woman have to die always? Why should she always be shunned and punished? Why should a woman always have to adjust with her husband’s adultery- his girlfriends or all his extra marital affairs unfairly. A woman who is fighting for honor and chastity is always left to fend for herself most pathetically. It is very hard for an educated and accomplished woman to share her relationships and assets and even her identity.
Most Indian women are tortured and tormented unremittingly. Most Western women are cheated upon and subjected to incessant polygamy and polyarmory. By the time a woman comes out of her abuse inflicted upon her by her narcissistic partner, it becomes too late for anything to be saved or salvaged even momentarily and also monetarily.
We women have to make peace with the adage that a female is another female’s worst enemy- so a woman has no one to turn to essentially- her family wants her to become independent, her lovers are just not good enough socially, and she is mired in several personal and professional controversies- controversies that are not of her own making but those that have been thrust onto her by all people who claim to be her seniors or in charge of her life and living.
Most men who are misogynists always try to harm their female preys despite being called out for their predatory antics. Such people have to realise that their victims know and are aware of the fact that the concerned males want their partners to end it all by resorting to self-harm and finally suicides.
