Why working very hard is not for everybody
There are many people, especially those from ICSE schools, that do not need to slog and indulge in back breaking jobs because they know and are aware of the fact that price that they have to pay is just too much in reality.
I belong to this set of people who just can’t remain at one job permanently. I find the routine of the job too suffocating, especially if the boss hates you and you hate him back most viciously.
There are so many snake- like poisonous Heads and CEOs who keep punishing their employees because they refuse to meet them or even admire or love them back most irritatingly. I have had bosses who joined in with other managers and secretaries to harass and bully me ever so vilely. They set up the entire office of politics to target one individual who can do the work of 4 people alone herself most enviously. They keep pointing at all kinds of imaginary errors and shortcomings that they keep undertaking themselves ever so absent mindedly.
They are anti-feminism and they refuse to accept that any female employee can become independent and work without them most effectively. It’s worse if you are the one who has rejected them first because you could see the incompatibility. They become permanent enemies and working with them becomes suicidal and useless technically.
Isn’t it really tragic that your boss may be an SC and ST worker whose ideals and goals refuse to match with those of his employees? Such people work till their backs break and all their coveted luxury becomes useless and superficial dreadfully. They appear to be working in groups, in gangs and are also immensely communal from within their personalities.
I feel that contentment and happiness are a lot more attractive than working away laboriously. It is a classic case of quality over quantity. The price you have to pay to become a millionaire is really not that attractive to any sane person basically.
That is the reason why I prefer a 4-hour workday and a 5-day work week for all corporate employees instead of what it is currently.
I would also support the WFH model of employment for mostly everybody. All genuine employees have a people problem at work that doesn’t go away no matter how much you work at it obdurately.
