You can only love God fully..
I am 53 years old and my most significant finding over all these years is that only God is worth loving fully. Your parents can get a similar rating but even then, there are always some invisible differences with them sadly. I have never had a boyfriend and I just so happy all alone floating around in pure Brahman fortunately. All my Swami friends and contacts keep saying that marriage is really not a social necessity. And I don’t even desire to disprove that finding.
Every person you like always has some serious shortcomings that you just can’t ignore or live with no matter how persuasive he may be. My time absorbed in the worship of Shivji made me the most happy. In every human relationship whether romantic or platonic there is always an element of selfishness and cruelty. If your partner is equal to you, there will be frequent battles, if he is inferior, he will be the one suffering endlessly. If you are too particular about relationships, you will become lonely, and if you are not, you will become corrupted and indulgent in polygamy ever so tragically. Our entire social structure is so tragic that there are so many families that prefer animals who are their pets over normal human relationships and ties so pathetically.
Solitude is best if you have some serious material and philosophical goals to achieve.
Your guru can play the role of a second-best relationship most preferably- but most Gurus exist to reveal to you how and where and when God can be attained most preferably and suitably.
Also, there is no place for sadness or evil to exist when you live with your maker and your dearest friend close to you ultimately. Thank god then that you are no solitary weeper fortunately.
