Boss: “Are you open to travel abroad?”
Single lady interviewee: “Errr, not too keenly”
Boss to colleague: “Over to the next candidate, thank you please”
All over the world we see that mostly all educated and employed females are being shunted out of all types of leading posts and positions without ceremony- this is a relatively recent trend eg we saw the retirement of Angela Merkel, Benazir Bhutto was gunned down ruthlessly, Taslima Nasreen is still fighting to belong to someplace safe, Mahua Maitra and Mamta Banerjee have been thrown out of West Bengal rather unceremoniously.
Throughout my entire career I was repeatedly looked over for more homely female candidates- they were all chosen sometimes out of poverty, sometimes because they took to nearly all their bosses mostly lovingly.
Most Indian men confess to be Freudian even as they continue to treat their wives like their Mother Goddesses, thereby confusing both, the Gods, their mothers and all their wives and girlfriends rather daftly.
Most Indian females love the god of passion, Krishna without realizing that he was only the God of war infamous for all his rather passionate associations with all his ‘weaker’ gender partners, included in his life just to expand his kingdoms’ borders geographically all the more astutely.
Most contemporary Indian men, those who appear to be monogamous, swear by the idea that nearly all Indian women should just be their personal assistants and live in their shadows only.
So, can we assume now that the prior magical reign of the ubiquitous super feminist is coming to a grinding halt albeit all too soon all too begrudgingly?
