All practicing Hindus hardly celebrate their birthdays, instead they realize and become aware of the fact that they are one year closer to their deaths ever so stoically. On my birthday, I will be visiting the temple, feeding cows and donating some old clothes and some money to my favorite causes religiously and annually.
Many orthodox Hindu homes hold homas or havans as they get closer to their final days. As the Rig Veda demonstrates, many of such devoted Hindus might even chant all the designated hymns and couplets while making all the oblations spiritually. These sacrificial fires also cleanse the atmospheric air and they become steps towards the host’s immortality. Many hosting householders also practise yoga and pranayama alongside ritually. The slower the breath, the longer becomes the life of the practising host or yogi.
Apart from all these rituals, the host and his celebrating family hold large feeding and gastronomical events at home or even inside temples for many hours on the most illustrious day quite skillfully. A renowned and devoted Hindu household will simply not have any alcohol or meat for the entire day. Many families and their relatives try to visit each other on such special occasions calling forth their annual celebrations ever so happily.
Many billionaire and trillionaire families in Mumbai also burst a lot of firecrackers in order to drive evil away almost invincibly.
Everything a believing person does has some kind of association with God or Rama or Krishna in every celebrating or non-celebrating Hindu family.
